living area allows you to relax in your own quiet corner then

accommodation is on the ground floor and this, with the
fenced-in swimming pool in the pretty enclosed garden, makes the

The pool, which is for your exclusive use, is 8m x 4m and has
Roman steps at the shallow end.
This is a real sun trap and you will find the sun
loungers beckon on those long warm afternoons.
Guests return to this house year after year. Come and enjoy it
too!
The house is one of 4 or 5 houses in a small hamlet with
friendly neighbours both English and French around.
Cherval is within walking distance and is a delightful
village with a bar, cafe and bakers shop as well as one of the
best car repair places in the area.
Verteillac,10 mins away, has a real buzz. There is an excellent
bakery, large general store, bank with cash machine, lively
cafes and several good restaurants, a post office and a
hairdresser. There is also a medical centre with an
English-speaking doctor, and a dentist.
Riberac is about 20 mins away and has a lively square with many
bars, cafes and restaurants. The large Friday market is great
fun and where you'll find the freshest fruit and vegetables, as
well as Provencal tablecloths and local hand painted pottery.
Excellent supermarkets in Riberac.
In La Tour Blanche you will find a baker, butcher, general
store, pharmacy, Post Office, tabac/bar and the Chez Fernand
bar/restaurant (good value fixed price set menu Mon - Fri
lunchtimes). .
At Lisle, about 20 mins away, you will find a few small shops
and bars and there is usually a Tuesday morning market selling a
variety of fresh produce. Lisle also has a doctor and a
pharmacy.
There is a golf course at Pillac about 8 kms away. If you are
real professional you need to go to Perigueux about 30 kms away
– 2 first class 18 hole courses.
There are so many festivals during the summer it is not possible
to mention them all. Every village has some activity - snail
eating, bread festival etc
There is also an excellent Information folder in the house
covering ideas for eating out, supermarkets, market days and
places to visit

Bed and breakfast, plus an evening meal on request. We are based in Mialet in the north of the Dordogne also known as the Perigord Vert, close to the departments of the Haute Vienne and the Charente. In addition we are in the Parc Natural Perigord Limousin and not far from the Route of St Jacques de Compostello. We have one room which can accommodate up to three people with a large bathroom en suite. A second double bedroom with en suite shower room. The rooms are light and airy and have been renovated to retain as many original features as possible whilst providing modern conveniences and comforts such as insulation and contemporary lighting. Tea and coffee making facilities. Local produce is also very important to us and we are developing contacts with local producers as well as growing some of our own vegetables. Lastly and very importantly we aim to provide our guests with a warm welcome and to give excellent service. Nearest towns are Thiviers to the south and La Coquille to the east, both about a 10 minute drive. Perigueux (capital of the Dordogne) and Limoges (with its busy airport) are both within easy reach. |

We are located 20 minutes south of Bergerac Airport. La Maison Ancienne has off-street parking and boasts a large tranquil garden with great character; ideal for relaxing on summer days and evenings. There is an open-air swimming pool less than 5 minutes walk away (seasonal). The present accommodation comprises of a large bedroom with separate dressing room and a luxury bathroom, with both shower and bath. In 2012 we will be offering two more suites: a family room (two bedrooms) and a further large double bedroom, both with ensuite facilities completed to the same high standard and tasteful decor. Our house boasts a large tree-filled garden with grape vines, and also hosts many different species of birds. holiday time is so at here at Martins' Lakes we try to be as

options. We have a holiday cottage (gite) which sleeps 6 people and has fantastic views down over the coarse lake which is included with your booking. Alternatively, there is the 7 acre Specimen carp lake for which either individual places are available, or you can book the whole lake for your own exclusive use. It is stocked with common carp, mirror carp, grass carp, koi carp as well as big cat fish and black bass. For a really perfect holiday you can book both the gite and Specimen carp lake together at a substantially discounted rate. We are not exclusively aimed at fishing holidays, there are plenty of other things to do and see in the area. We are in the heart of the Perigord region and surrounded by vineyards, châteaux and historical towns such as St Emilion, Bergerac, Perigueux, Bordeaux etc. On the other hand, you may want to come just to enjoy the lovely surroundings and take advantage of the peace and quiet in which to have a very secluded and relaxing holiday. The Gite From the gite there are stunning views down over the 1½ acre coarse fishing lake which is included in your booking and well stocked with carp (up to 15lbs), tench, bream, roach etc. The gite has 3 bedrooms (2 bedrooms have double beds and one bedroom has 2 single beds). The master bedroom is en-suite (toilet, basin, shower) and there is another separate bathroom with toilet, basin & shower. The fully fitted kitchen is well stocked with everything you may need and overlooks the open-plan dining/sitting room which also benefits from the beautiful views down the field to the lake. There are French doors from the sitting area to the large, covered terrace which has table & chairs, sun-loungers (with cushions) and a large, purpose-built barbeque. There is also a 25ft pool which is perfect for cooling off in and enjoying the landscape. The pool has an alarm which automatically activates when the pool is not is use. The gite has UK satellite TV, a DVD player and WiFi internet connection. Fishing Whether you are just visiting just for a day or staying for a holiday we can offer you a lake to suit your style of fishing. We also have a third lake which isn't currently available for fishing as the dam is undergoing repair, but as soon as it is up and running we will let you know. The lakes lie in tranquil and private woodland surroundings, set in 80 acres of rolling French countryside. | This lovely
two bedroom gite is set back from a quiet road in North
Dordogne, near the villages of Javerlhac, Varaignes, Etouars, St
Estephe and Bussiere-Badil. The house comprises an large airy open plan room downstairs with seating for six and a fitted kitchen area with fridge, freezer, cooker, microwave, kettle and washing machine. Upstairs are two good sized bedrooms and a shower room. The good sized garden is fully fenced so safe for children and animals, with a gate leading to the rest of the grounds and pool area which are shared by the owners. Please don’t hesitate to ask if you have any questions about the accommodation and it’s suitability for your family or group. We are in the north of the Dordogne department, in the Perigord Limousin Parc Naturel. We are close to the border with the Charente to the West, and the Haute Vienne is not far away. It is a hilly region of woodland and farmland, with many rivers, streams and small lakes. It is ideal for walking and cycling, with well marked footpaths around many villages and longer distance paths nearby, including one of the national Grand Randonnees, the GR4. Lakes nearby at St Estephe and St Mathieu offer man made beaches for swimming, and boating and fishing are available. There is a weekly market at nearby Piegut-Pluviers, where you can sample and buy the traditional foods, wines and spirits of the region. Local producers sell home made products and from further afield there are excellent cheese and fishmongers' stalls. The aperitif, Pineau des Charentes is widely drunk in the region, as are walnut and chestnut liqueurs, apple juice and cider. There are duck dishes including confit, foie gras, rillettes and pate. Jambon cru and many varieties of sausages are also traditional, and there are some excellent cheeses, including hand-made goats cheese. Fruit and vegetables are available all year round, with beautiful displays of local melons, garlic, mushrooms etc when in season. There is a local vineyard at St Sornin producing vin de pays, with wine tasting and wines for sale. The Bordeaux wine region with towns such as St Emilion can be visited in a day. Cognac is about an hours drive west, and the Atlantic coast can be reached in about 2 and half hours. The historic city of Brantome with its old abbey, winding streets, pretty rivers and canoeing is about an hour away and the chateaux of Puygulheim and Bourdeilles, the caves at Villars or the beautiful village of St Jean de Cole can easily be visited on the same day. About an hour in the opposite direction is the burned out wartime village of Oradour sur Glane with it's memorial centre, and a visit here can be combined with a trip to the modern art museum in the chateau at Rochechouart, the adventure Parc de Bellevue near Limoges, the city of Limoges or the porcelaine town of Aixe sur Vienne. The gite has been recently renovated to a high standard with many of the original features retained including original oak beams and exposed stonework. Living room. Large spacious room with TV, and DVD player two large settees and occasional chairs, wood burning stove for heating in winter or on cold days, front door leading to courtyard which has full morning sun, ideal for an alfresco breakfast. Large beam running the length of this room. A set of stairs gives access to two of the bedrooms. Kitchen / Dinning room. This room is accessed from the living room through a low door. This room has the original stone work exposed on three sides and again a large beam runs the length of the room. This room has a double bed and a clothes storage unit, bed side cabinet and an electrical radiator. Two walls have the original stonework exposed, and the roof beams are also visible, a Velux window adds lots of light to this vaulted room. The shared bathroom is next door to this room. Shared bathroom. The shared bathroom has a shower, vanity sink unit, storage area, WC, heated towel rail and the water heater is in this room. This bathroom has two doors one from bedroom 2 and one from the stairs leading from the kitchen /dinning room, so you must remember to lock both doors or you may be caught out!! The Garden. Owned and managed by Val and Colin Meneaud, who live on site, Sweet Chestnut Lake is located in the beautiful Northern Dordogne countryside, just 3 km's from Saint Saud Lacoussiere.
In carp angling terms we are a 'Fly and Survive' or 'Drive and Survive', venue established in 2007 with excellent facilities.
Our 4 acre lake is situated in an attractive setting. Surrounded on all sides by trees and with a well maintained grass bank on one side, level with the water's edge, ideal for fishing from.
54lb 4oz Mirror Carp, New Lake Record, caught on November 1st 2009
The lake was stocked 3 times during the winter of 2006/2007.
In total 50 Carp over 20lb were introduced, including several 30's and one fish over 40lb.
The new carp have gained weight rapidly and we now have several 40's and numerous 30's and our carp record is 54lb 4oz We also have some catfish in the lake, the biggest is now well over 72lb and we have others not far behind in weight.
The lake is also home to about 150 Original Carp, these are mainly double-figure fish with some 20's, but there could be some surprises.
The facilities at Sweet Chestnut Lake are excellent and are of course exclusive to parties that book with us.
We offer a refurbished apartment contained in the main house and above our own accommodation, right on the edge of the lake.
Total privacy is maintained as access is by way of an external stairway with small viewing balcony.
Decorated to a high standard the self contained apartment boasts brand new kitchen and bathroom.
The toilet, walk in shower and large wash basin have just been installed complete with fresh white wall tiles.
There is also a large living/dining area with 3 seater sofa and dining table with chairs.
Outside the apartment, we provide table, chairs and parasol, ideal for sitting out and relaxing, and also a new stone barbeque.
Below this accessed by natural steps, on the lakes edge, is a hard standing which can also be used, you can even fish from here if you like.
We provide all the large items of carp fishing equipment, which were new in 2007, and this is included in our prices. This makes us very attractive to customers, who wish to take advantage of the amazing low cost flights by Ryanair to Limoges.
Our venue is just a leisurely 40 minute drive away in the beautiful Parc Naturel Regional Perigord-Limousin.
Delicious freshly cooked meals are available and anglers may decide to book the food package for the week. Meals can be delivered to your swim or served in the apartment.
We also have a full range of baits available on site, including........ Loir baits fresh frozen boilies, pop-ups and dips. High quality pellets, freshly cooked particles and ground bait.
We are happy to cater for any angler's needs and provide as much or as little attention as you require.

Barn Close was converted to a very high standard last winter and
now offers luxury accommodation with chestnut flooring
throughout the downstairs. Full gas central heating makes this
property perfect for a holiday at any time of the year. The lounge/diner and fully equipped kitchen has two sets of patio doors leading out to the covered terrace with chairs and table for alfresco dining. There is free sat tv to receive English television. In the kitchen there is a microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, electric cooker and gas hob. A BBQ for those summer evenings has not been forgotten. The master bedroom on the ground floor is very spacious with a queen size bed wardrobe and chest of drawers. Two picture windows look out onto the garden and surrounding countryside. There is also a single bedroom downstairs next to the shower and toilet. The spiral staircase leads up to another magnificent beamed bedroom with twin beds It has its own separate shower and toilet. The above ground heated swimming pool is alarmed. Bikes are available if required. There is a phone line installed which only requires connection to enable internet access. Children welcome, sorry no pets. This property gives easy access to the south or north Dordogne and even into the Limousin or Charente areas. Perigueux is approximately 30 minutes, Limoges and its airport approximately 50 minutes. Thivers has many shops, supermarkets, estate agents, bars/restaurants and a train station and has very busy market on a Saturday morning. |

It is situated in a rural setting approx. 4km from Thiviers and La Coquille close to the N21. The comfortable lounge has a beamed ceiling and stonewalls. A wood burning stove for winter in addition to oil fired central heating. The dining room leads off from the lounge separated by sliding glass doors. The fully equipped kitchen is on one side of the lounge. Bedroom one has a double bed and bedroom two has twin beds with bathroom and toilet adjacent. The third spacious bedroom is upstairs and has its own separate dressing room, toilet and shower. Downstairs there is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. The large mature garden with its shady trees is an ideal place to relax with a cool glass of wine. An idyllically former 18th Century mill now restored into a charming 3-storey country house with 6 bedrooms (sleeps 10), straddling a mill race and island on the river L'Isle in 2 acres of meadow land surrounded by open grass areas and skirted with woodland in a gentle valley.
The dwelling overlooks the river, weir and mill pond which is reasonable for swimming.

Rectangular
in shape, the lounge/dining room (33' x 24') has a majestic
timber and brick fireplace which combined with furnishings
create a charming atmosphere. To one side is a well equipped
kitchen with gas cooker, 2 fridges, washing machine, micro-wave
oven and many cupboards stocked with utensils and crockery for
up to ten guests.
Situated over the river Le Moulin de Madame is ideal for fishing and since some guests arrive without necessary footwear for going into the river there are eight pairs of boots ranging in size from 10 year old kids to adults. There are also several umbrellas for those who are caught without. A powerful stereo system in the lounge allows guests who bring their own personal stereo mp3 players, CD players, cassette recorders and radios with a standard headphone socket to hear their favourite sounds without the worry of disturbing neighbours. The next house is located several hundred yards away behind trees and bushes and hence one can enjoy music without the worry of disturbing others.
There is a
large box of toys for small children and also card games and
jigsaw puzzles. A set of simple snorkelling equipment with
flippers, safety vest and plastic sandals for the more
adventurous.
A cobbled
veranda is at the front of the house and a simple barbecue area
is close to the kitchen. The parkland around the house is made
up of several gardens with walks, loungers for sunbathing and a
grass area for playing badminton. The island has not been
tampered with and here nature determines which wild flowers
dominate. The bridge to the island has no hand rails and so
visitors are permitted to cross to the island at their own risk.
Fishing from the garden is permitted and if one is so inclined
then one can relax in an armchair in the lounge and fish from
there! Most go across to the island and then wearing water boots
stand in the river and seem to have most success there. A permit
for fishing can be obtained at the local fish tackle shop in
Thiviers. The bridge accessing the main garden in front of the
house is ancient but recently renovated and solid.
There are
various outdoor seats including 14 standard plastic chairs for
the garden, and small tables which can be arranged to your own
pleasure. Bicycles can be hired locally but guests are advised
to bring their own if possible to ensure satisfaction when
wishing to explore the forests and river banks in the area.

Built around a 17th century mill house in the North Dordogne.
The site is situated just 4km from the RN21, halfway between Limoges and Perigueux in Northern Dordogne, an area of outstanding beauty, also known as the Perigord-Limousin Natural Park.

There is a modern shower block providing modern facilities and British WCs. Push button hot showers, shaving points in the male section and hairdryer points in the female section. A washing machine is situated at the rear and dishwashing and laundry sinks at the front.
The grounds afford plenty of space for playing outdoor games.
There is an outdoor table tennis table and a small above ground swimming pool, also an indoors games room with basket ball hoop and darts board for rainy days. We do not have games machines.
We organise competitions in the summer as well as run our famous barbecues, joined by locals and where we welcome people to bring their guitars and other musical instruments to join our evening soirees.
The mill itself is over 2 hundred years old and houses it’s own bar and restaurant, popular with locals as well as campers, providing both English & French cuisine or even Chinese or Indian food.

The owner is a potter. On request, he grants amusing lessons. His wife offers for the ladies a special fitness program.
Tennis 7 km, riding 7 km, old towns (Sarlat!) and romantic villages (Brantôme!), the path of Richard Coeur de Lion, Limoges - famous for its porcelain factories, beautiful golf courses (25 minutes), the lovely old town of Périgueux with its small streets, shops and Byzantine cathedral (45 minutes), excellent specialty shops, rivers and lakes for fishing, adventure parks, zoos, caves (grottos), an internationally well-known Future Park (1.5 hours), a 40-ha-nautic-lake, the Atlantic (220 km) and (normally!) a lot of sunshine - all this within a distance of 10 minutes up to 3 hours can make your holidays very special!

Sleeping 8-10 a perfect play for a large family holiday or group of friends. Set in a quiet courtyard, surrounded by gardens and countryside at the edge of a quiet hamlet St-Front-la-Rivière, La Varenne lives up to its name 'the game reserve'.   On the ground floor you will find a kitchen with range of wooden cupboards
and breakfast table, fan assisted eye-level oven, mixed hob, microwave,
fridge freezer.  Salon with formal dining area and WC.    On the first floor there is a master bedroom with king sized bed, bathroom
with shower over large bathSecond bedroom with double bed.    On the second floor we have a third bedroom with double bed, shower room,
4th bedroom with sturdy twin beds and futons for smaller guests. Heating is via a log fire in the salon, supplemented by electric heaters in every room. all shared with owner. Children welcome. For reasonably fit explorers, there's a chemin, pigeonnier, and cave which was used as a wartime hide in the woods behind the house. The Dronne Valley is a beautiful rural part of the Northern Dordogne, and is popular with walkers and cyclists. There is canoeing in Brantome, 'the Venice of the Perigord', and Perigueux, the regional capital, is less than an hour away. The village of St Front la Rivière has a friendly cafe bar 'Le Relais de la Dronne' - indoor and outdoor seating, billiards, pool and table football. There's a children's playground, camping area, sports ground and boule park. Local shops, bakers, boulangerie, small supermarket, pharmacy 3km away in the village of St Pardoux la Rivière. Larger supermarkets and DIY stores at in Nontron, 11km away. There are many excellent restaurants close by in Brantôme and St Jean de Cole, with the Hotel de France in St Pardoux regarded as one of the best in the area. There are many regular markets in the local area, and special markets, brocantes and vide greniers throughout the region during the year.
