John lives and works in the Dordogne, South West France. Set midway between Angoulême, capital of the Charente and Périgueux the capital of the Dordogne, and, in our humble opinion, one of the most beautiful parts of France.
Early in John's wood turning, he explored the avenues of treen, such as salt and pepper mills and salad bowls, for home and friends. One day he realised the type of turning he wanted to specialise in. He scaled up, got a larger workshop, a larger lathe and started buying in whole trees. Now he focuses mainly on large, one-of-a-kind vases, bowls, platters, hollow forms and more recently wall sculptures. Sometimes he likes to add drama and interest by incorporating additional features such as metals, ceramics, carving, colour, bleaching or even burning (ebonising) areas of the wood.
Wall Sculptures came about when John realised that there was another alternative to filling wall spaces with picture art in homes and public buildings. For example, tapestries have been shown on walls for many centuries usually taking up large areas of walls. Wood has now been proved a wonderful media in its natural form or enhanced as described above. John has taken this opportunity to show his form of art and has adapted and combined some or all these other forms of enhancements into his wall sculptures.
Although their main use is on the table top for decoration or fruit etc, they are equally at home stored on the wall as art.

John lives and works in the Dordogne, South West France. Set midway between Angoulême, capital of the Charente and Périgueux the capital of the Dordogne, and, in our humble opinion, one of the most beautiful parts of France.
Early in John's wood turning, he explored the avenues of treen, such as salt and pepper mills and salad bowls, for home and friends. One day he realised the type of turning he wanted to specialise in. He scaled up, got a larger workshop, a larger lathe and started buying in whole trees. Now he focuses mainly on large, one-of-a-kind vases, bowls, platters, hollow forms and more recently wall sculptures. Sometimes he likes to add drama and interest by incorporating additional features such as metals, ceramics, carving, colour, bleaching or even burning (ebonising) areas of the wood.
Wall Sculptures came about when John realised that there was another alternative to filling wall spaces with picture art in homes and public buildings. For example, tapestries have been shown on walls for many centuries usually taking up large areas of walls. Wood has now been proved a wonderful media in its natural form or enhanced as described above. John has taken this opportunity to show his form of art and has adapted and combined some or all these other forms of enhancements into his wall sculptures.

Wood stoves work on the principle of radiant heat. A solid metal wood stove, for example, is designed to become a radiant heat source. Very little heat energy is lost up the chimney, and if the chimney is exposed to the room, it also becomes a source of heat. Ifor Williams trailer really is the king of trailers when it comes to moving large heavy loads. With it's three axles and gross plated weight of 3500kgs, it will handle most jobs with ease. It has the advantage of integrated ramps and stabilisers for loading heavy machinery
This Challenger trailer has tall drop down sides all round and will carry 1800kgs. It has the benefit of integrated ramps for vehicular loading
This Ifor Williams electric tipping trailer will haul loads of up to 1500kgs and is ideal for building material collections and deliveries. It also has the benefit of integrated ramps for loading such items as motor bikes and ride on mowers
The ever popular box trailer is ideal for furniture, house removals and will takes loads up to 1900kgs. It has the advantage of a drop down rear door that acts as a ramp for ease of loading. Dimensions available on request
For all trailer rentals, a large refundable deposit is required in cash. Trailer rentals will only be agreed to those who have a suitable towing vehicle and we reserve the right to refuse to hire any trailer if we consider your vehicle to be unsuitable in our opinion. For safety reasons, we will only hire our trailers to people who have previous towing experience.
