The gite is situated on the Limousin / North Dordogne / Charente border and the nearest large town is St Mathieu, which can offer all the amenities required on a day to day bases.

 

 

The gite has been recently renovated to a high standard with many of the original features retained including original oak beams and exposed stonework.

Kitchen / Dinning room. This room is accessed from the living room through a low door. This room has the original stone work exposed on three sides and again a large beam runs the length of the room. Bussiere – Gallant is 10 minutes drive away has many activities including an acrobatic course in the trees, a mini train, a lake with sandy shoreline and velorail rail track.

How to reach us

By air:

There are often low cost flights to Limoges (40 minutes) via Ryan Air from Stanstead or Flybe from Southampton. You can also fly into Angouleme (2 hours) or Bergerac (2 hours).
By car:

The journey is approximately 7 hours drive from Calais.

By train:

You can travel from Kings Cross St Pancras to Limoges or Angouleme via Paris. From Paris to Limoges it is approximately three hours. We advise that you hire a car in Limoges or Angouleme.

Limoges airport is about an hours drive, serving several UK airports with Ryanair. One hour in the other direction is pretty Angouleme with TGV station.

The house is South facing so the bedrooms are lovely and sunny. Private terrace and garden with barbecue.

 

The house is centrally heated so an ideal winter rental.

 

Sorry not suitable for pets.

 

St Martial De Vallete is a small village with two bread shops, bar with restaurant, Sports Centre and new this year a swimming pool. The town of Nontron is just 5 kms where there are many shops, bars and cafes. Market on a Saturday morning. Just a short drive from the town centre there are many Supermarkets and stores. From Nontron to the north is the Perigord Vert Limousin where there are many Lakes and forests.
